The 1938 Plymouth advertisement

  1. "You'll see thrilling new style" - Plymouth was the only 1938 Chrysler Corporation car (top picture) to have its headlamps mounted on the side of the radiator shell. All the others had the headlamps mounted on the mudguard. Apparently halfway through the production run of the '38 Plymouth the headlamps were lowered and moved further back, which slightly improved the front-end styling.

    1. I didn't know that! Cool! Thanks! I love learning stuff like that about design, and identifying cars by a certain feature... like the 1936 vs 37 ford headlights. I mean, it makes old cars a lot easier to get an idea of their age if you already know the break from pods on fenders to headlights IN fenders! Much appreciated!
