Some photos remind me of others.... the NYPD airplane at Bennett Field reminded me of the SDFD Aerial Truck

Top photo from http://www.scoutingny.com/ I'm pretty sure

On January 23, 1934, the newly appointed Police Commissioner John F. O'Ryan made a surprise inspection of the Air Service Division in Hangar No. 1 at Floyd Bennett Field, in order to evaluate whether to fund or dissolve the Division.

No decision was made and the Division continued on another four years with the aircraft on hand.

Left to right: Captain Arthur W. Wallander, Commissioner O'Ryan, Deputy Chief Inspector Edward W. Bracken, and Assistant Secretary to the Commissioner Arthur N. Chamberlin.

 The aircraft is the 1929 four-seat Keystone-Loening K-84 Commuter (NC370N) designated as P.D. 1-A

maybe you see why. The bottom photo is from the Clairemont Fire Department wall of interesting photos http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2011/09/betcha-never-heard-of-aerial-truck.html and you can see that it's an "Aerial Truck" and I didn't make that up... and that has been posted for over a year and I've never had a comment about the term Aerial Truck yet. I still think it's pretty odd.

Steve says it's an extension of their nomenclature: Hose Truck; Ladder Truck; Pumper Truck. Why not Aerial Truck?
