Why do Italian car companies car some models Spider/Spyder? The answer from Car and Driver magazine

  1. Yes I read that little Editors piece. I wish they had explained that when the first horseless carriages were built that they were built to look similar to horse drawn carriages, otherwise it was looked down upon by people. Many terms from horse drawn carriages were used in automotive terms like Phaeton, Victorian phaeton, even coupe.
