this 1967 Comet GT is all original right down to the BFG Silvertowns and cheater slicks mounted on real Halibrand magnesium wheels. It was built for Leonard Wood

the 427-powered Merc, with Thunderbolt suspension pieces installed by Dearborn Steel Tubing and engine tuning by Holman and Moody, was reportedly built for Leonard Wood of the Wood Brothers. But Wood wasn’t interested in racing in a straight line, he lent the car to a friend to drag race it.

The car eventually went into a private collection, where it sat for some 26 years before it was bought in the mid 1990s.
