    1. Correct, and not contested. Does that change the amount of outrage for being charged over a hundred for a simple spark plug wire?

    2. Yes, it is expensive, but there is probably a reason for most of the cost. The boot on the wire is probably designed to withstand higher operating temperatures and ignition voltages than an automotive ignition wire. The spark plug is about 10-12" down inside the cylinder head. When these big Natural gas generators are running constantly, the operators want them to have very little downtime, because the downtime is expensive. They want the spark plugs and other parts to last as long as possible, so they can change them at the same time as another service interval. The spark plugs for this engine are probably $50 or more each, too.
